LDCM Epson compatible, Continuous Ink Supply System: please note these CISS bulk ink systems are supplied empty! We let you choose your own inks, they work with: dye and pigmented ink, solvant and sublimation inks. As you know sometimes it can be a pain when you run out of ink halfway through a large print run. The R265-R360-RX560 and D78-D92-DX4000-DX4400-DX4550-DX4450D-X5000-DX5050-DX6000-DX6050 kits are fitted with the latest auto reset chips that work with both pre and post March 2007 models of printer. On reaching 15% ink level the chip auto resets, as long as you keep the ink level topped up in the bulk ink tanks you can print for ever!
*Important information for these CISS Systems: Code: CISST080* for the R285-RX585-RX685 also Code: CISST071* for the
DX7400-DX7450-DX8400-DX8450
These printers will show empty with an X showing in the ink level monitor, to reset the ink level just switch the printer off for 30 seconds, the system will reset and the ink level monitor will show full!
Please note: you must mount the bulk ink tanks on the same level as the printer base. The CISS System cartridges must first be filled with ink to prime the system, we recommend priming with 10 mililitre of ink in all the cartridges, let the cartridges rest in the printer for an hour then top them up with 5 millilitre of ink, then fill the ink bottles within 2cm of the top. When in use don't let the ink levels drop to below 1.5cm in the ink bottles.
The LDCM continuous ink system allows you to continually print without ever changing your ink cartridges. The cartridges fit just like normal style ink cartridges, the tubing is supported by various brackets (depending on the printer model) this will enable the cartridge carrier to run free when printing. You will also need to install the air filters into the bulk bottles, the bottles hold around 80ml of ink. Full instructions supplied with kit.
WARNING: When installing the CISS systems you may have to make some major modifications, especially with the all in one printers that have the print, copy and scanning facilities, I.E. remove the cartridge carrier lid, remove the printer cover (standard printers only) override the cover open warning light switch, the use of blu-tack or a piece of rubber will suffice, re-route the ink flow pipes for best performance, depending on your model of printer you may have to drill holes or cut slots to allow free movement of the ink flow pipes.

The system comes with stick on fixings so that you can route the ink tubes out of the way of other moving parts. With the all in one printers which have the print, copy and scanning facilities, you will not be able to close the scanner fully unless you make major modifications like drilling holes or sawing slots etc. If you are not mechanically minded we suggest you find a friend that is and let them fit the system, or return the complete system to Laser Designs for a full refund.
When everything is installed print around 3 full colour A4 photographs this will ensure the ink flows freely through the tubes into the ink cartridges. If the ink does not flow through the tubes use the head clean facility, this forces the ink through the tubes.
